Privacy policy
Last updated
SluiceWright is an Australian business and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page describes exactly what this website does, in plain terms.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name, if you choose to give it — this field is optional
- The message you write (up to 2,000 characters)
What we do not collect
This is the shorter and more useful list. We do not store your IP address, your browser user agent, or any advertising or tracking identifier. This site sets no cookies of its own, and there is no advertising network, tag manager, or social media pixel on it.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites, which is why this site has no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
Where it is stored
Contact form submissions are written to a database hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and does not use the contents of your enquiry for its own purposes.
Your enquiry is not sent to a marketing platform, a CRM, or any third-party form service.
What we use it for
To read your enquiry and reply to it. That is the whole purpose. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send follow-up sequences, and we do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where an enquiry becomes an engagement, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it for that work and for the period our tax and record-keeping obligations require, then delete it.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contactus@sluicewright.com and we will action it within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason to have your enquiry deleted.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The contact form is protected against automated abuse, and submissions are validated before they are stored. Access to the database is limited to the people who need it to reply to you.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever became aware of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first at contactus@sluicewright.com and we will investigate. If our response does not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not apply a materially different use to information you have already sent us.
